Who are we?
The Friends of the Hamilton Public Library, Inc. (FOL) is a group of citizens in our community who are concerned with the library’s well-being: its active expansion and participation in community life. They believe that good library service is important to everyone. The Friends promote the public’s use of the library’s resources and services, support the library in expanding services, encourage donations of time and money to the library, and support reading and literacy as part of the library’s services. The Friends provide refreshments for library sponsored programs and events and provide copies of the Book Page book review booklet free of charge to our patrons.
With your help, the Library can continue to help the library enhance services, programs, and facilities in the future.
Board of the Friends of the Library
The board of the Friends of the Library meet the third Monday of every month at 10:15 am.
You can pick up a membership form at the Welcome Table, in the front of the library, or download one here. Several levels of membership are available.
Annual book sale to benefit the Library is held during Labor Day weekend
You can donate online via PayPal by sending money from your bank account or credit card. You can also make out a check directly to the Friends of the Library and drop it off at the circulation desk or mail it to the library (13 Broad St, Hamilton, NY). The Friends is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Volunteering your time is also a great way to help the Hamilton Public Library and Friends group. We occasionally have opportunities for community members to volunteer on a regular basis, periodically as needed, or for specific special events. If you are interested in volunteering, please call or stop by the library to make arrangements to meet with our Director.
