Welcome New Staff Member Caleigh Tuttle!

With the New Year upon us, it’s time to compile those year-end lists everyone is so fond of! Except in our case, the year ends on May 31 so you’re going to have to wait until the summer to squeeze a list out of us. Sorry!

But our New Year brings forth lots of changes, most notably with a few changes in our staff. First, I want to say farewell to Dan Ahrens, who has accepted a full time position at another institution and will no longer work at our circulation desk. Dan joined us in the spring of 2019 and has been an excellent addition to our staff. We wish him all the best. Next, Caprice Kilts has shifted from part-time staff to substitute. This means she will still fill in occasionally but will not be covering her usual weekly shifts moving forward. If anyone has earned some time off, it’s Caprice, who is also employed full-time at the Hamilton Central School.

Of course these staffing vacancies bring about some excitement too, and we are happy to announce lifelong Hamilton resident Caleigh Tuttle as the newest addition to our staff! Born in Hamilton, Caleigh attended elementary and high school here, and while she moved away to study Theatre at SUNY Potsdam for a few years, she now serves as Assistant Director and Stage Manager with the Hamilton Central Masquers. Caleigh has a love for literature and counts Jurassic Park and the Harry Potter series among her favorite works. Stop by and say hello next time you’re in.

This reminds me, I have to order Caleigh a name badge. I guess for now you’ll know which one she is from her default “Staff” name badge.

What? I still have room? FINE. Here’s a year-end list. Here are the five most checked-out books of 2019, according to the MidYork Library System: 1) Where the Crawdads Sing; 2) Becoming; 3) The Reckoning; 4) The Chef; 5) Educated – A Memoir.

As always, thanks for reading!
