Join together with the library to help your community! Stop in and donate personal hygiene products to the clearly-marked box in our front entrance now through Saturday, October 19, to benefit those in need. Your donations will be taken directly to the Hamilton Food Cupboard.
Not sure what constitutes as a personal hygiene product? Things like toilet paper, toothpaste, shaving cream, disposable razors, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo… I could just go on but I think you get the idea. Perhaps if I don’t meet my 350-word minimum I’ll add some more examples to the bottom of this column!
Why Saturday, October 19? That’s the day of the Great Give Back, when over 150 New York State libraries join together to provide opportunities for library patrons to participate in meaningful service-oriented experiences. Many libraries in the MidYork Library System are also participating, so if you can’t make it to Hamilton call your local branch to see how you can help out! Fair warning, not all of us are collecting the same thing, or even collecting anything at all! But in Madison County alone, Canastota, Cazenovia, Chittenango, Deruyter, Earlville, Morrisville and Oneida are definitely doing SOMETHING to support this cause.
Our collection box is already filling up, so don’t be fooled if it appears empty. That just means we had so many items in such a little cardboard box that we had to store your donations in the workroom!
Thank you to those that have already donated, and thank you to those who will donate in the future. And as always, thanks for reading!
