What do you get when you cross the Hamilton Public Library, the Colgate Bookstore, a blanket movie license, Ye Olde Landmark Tavern, and folks that love to read and talk? Why, the return of the Book-to-Movie Club, of course!
Back by popular demand, the Book-to-Movie club will feature the book “Crazy Rich Asians,” by Kevin Kwan, and, unsurprisingly, the movie “Crazy Rich Asians” directed by Jon M. Chu. Here’s how it works: Read the book (you can get a copy from the library OR purchase one at a discount from the Colgate Bookstore), then mark your calendar for September 24th at 5:30 p.m. On that date we will feature not only a free feature, (is it redundant if it’s a homonym?) but free food as well, donated by Ye Olde Landmark Tavern! After the film wraps up, hang out and discuss the book and movie, and even the food if you want to.
There is no charge to this event, other than the optional purchase of a book to prepare for the discussion. For more information, stop in the library OR the bookstore. If you’re not sure if this book and movie is right for you, no sweat – there will be more Book-to-Movie Club selections in the future, featuring different books, movies, and food!
Thank you to Lauren Marshall, Marketing & Event Coordinator at the Colgate Bookstore for assisting us in planning this program as well as providing and sharing information for this column! Thanks also to Diana Cassulis, our own Events Coordinator, for helping plan things on our end.
Happy reading AND watching! And eating!
