First, I would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring our Summer Reading Program this year: 8 Fresh, Bueno Tacos, Curtis Lumber, Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Flour & Salt Bakery, The Hamilton Movie Theater, Lotus Salon and Spa, Magro’s (VJ’s) Restaurant, Oliveri’s Pizzeria, Parry’s General Store, The Rye Berry Bakery & Cafe, and Ye Olde Pizza Pub. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to offer amazing prizes and programming to you and your family all summer long. Feel free to go into those businesses and spend all your money and yell something like, “thank you for supporting literacy in our community!”
Second, I want to take this opportunity to wish a fond farewell to our Assistant Director, Kristin Jeter. Her last day with us is Friday, July 5. Make sure you stop in and wish her the best in her new position as the Interlibrary Loan Supervisor in the Syracuse University Libraries.
We have been lucky to have Kristin serve as a member of our staff for the past year. During her brief tenure here, she met new challenges with professionalism and positivity and welcomed patrons of all ages in our building. I could go on, but it might be better to have Kristin say something to you herself:
“I’m just kidding, this was all an elaborate prank. I’m staying here forever.”
Sigh, that’s just me again. Here’s Kristin’s actual message:
“To everyone in Hamilton, and the Hamilton Public Library in particular, thank you for welcoming me so readily into your community. The past year here has been an amazing learning experience for me, and I am so grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful institution and its staff. I am very excited for the opportunities ahead, but I will certainly miss Hamilton and the community that exists here! Thank you for everything!”
