More Events? You Got It!

Next week, we have some excellent new programming coming up and our Community Room calendar is filling up fast!  Sidenote – did you know you could reserve our Community Room for your next meeting? Some restrictions apply, ask the library for details.  

Monday, October 8 sees the return of Chair Yoga with Kriss Young of the Zen Den starting at 10 a.m.  For details or to sign up for this free event, ask the library. On a related ‘wellness’ note, our first Guided Meditation session will take place on Saturday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Ordained Zen Buddhist Monk Do’an Prajna will offer guidance on posture, breath, body relaxation, and how to work with the mind. Meditation practice will start with a guided practice followed by a silent period where participants can put techniques into practice.  Questions and answer period will follow. Practice will be held in chairs, but if you are comfortable sitting on the floor, you are welcome to bring meditation cushions. Registration is required and space is limited, please call the library to reserve your spot. This is a free event.  Donations to the library are always welcome.

We’re also switching up our Storytime starting in October.  Where we used to have two groups meeting at the same time every Tuesday, we now have storytimes on Monday AND Tuesday, both at 10:30 a.m., with Monday being aimed at babies and toddlers and Tuesday focusing on preschoolers.  Both days will offer the same stories, themes, and programs, and even have the same storytellers. Speaking of storytellers, our new Assistant Director Kristin Jeter and Clerk Diana Cassulis will be the main storytellers with guest volunteers reading as their schedules allow.  Thanks for putting up with yet another change as we try to bring you the best programming possible.
