Since this column focuses on the newest, most exciting aspects of our library, this week there really isn’t anything more new or exciting than our new (and excited) Assistant Director, Kristin Jeter! And who better to give us all an introduction on Kristin than an expert in the field, Kristin Jeter, herself. Take it away, Kristin!
“I originally hail from a little town in northwest Pennsylvania, so I’m no stranger to a small-town community or to lake-effect snow. I moved to Liverpool to earn my B.A. in Religion at Syracuse University. A year later, under the strong influence of my mother (a librarian) and my aunt (a storyteller and teacher), as well as my own love for libraries, I returned to the Syracuse University iSchool for my M.S. in Library and Information Science. All of that work has led me to where I am today: the Assistant Director to the Hamilton Public Library!
I have only been here a few days and I can already tell that this is an exceptional community to be a part of! Thanks to the Friends of the Library for providing a delicious array of cookies and brownies over the course of my first week! (How did you all know I have a sweet tooth, especially for home-baked goods?) The library itself has so many wonderful programs and projects that I am excited to be a part of, and I can only imagine where we will go from here. I can’t thank everyone enough for being so friendly and for welcoming me to the community! I look forward to meeting/working with you all!”
On an unrelated note, thanks to Dunkin’ Donuts for donating some delicious treats for some programs this week!
