What’s new at the Library this week? Video game rentals!
That’s it. End of blog. See you next week!
Alright, alright, I suppose we could get into the nitty gritty of this new collection. Starting now, we have multiple games for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii for players of all ages.
Here’s how it works: The game cases are shelved near our new DVDs, without the discs (just like our DVDs). Simply find a game that’s age-appropriate using the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating on the front cover (more information about that can be found here), bring the case to the circulation desk, and check it out for 14 days, with the option to renew once. For now, games must be picked up in person and cannot be shipped to other libraries in the MidYork system for pickup, but they can be returned at other libraries. That about sums it up!
And I know you’re all desperate to find out which local businesses donated something to our Summer Reading Program THIS week, so here are a few more Thank Yous: Kinney Drugs Store, Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, Parry’s General Store, and Steph Boutique join nine other business partners who will help make this year’s program truly “Rock.” Thank you for your support! Donations include raffle prizes, food for events, and material for events. More details on that when we start the program.
A special thank you to the Friends of the Library for purchasing brand new books to give away to every kid that signs up for the program! What? You want free ice cream too? FINE. How about an Ice Cream Social/Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party on Monday, June 25, from 2:00 – 3:30? Will that work?
